EFT...You Gotta Love it!!!

I got hooked on EFT right after the 911 attack. My question is why was I so attracted to this really strange procedure call EFT? Come on…a healing technique that was being promoted by a man named Gary Craig. A man with an engineering degree. Gary keeps saying try it on everything?? You’re kidding… right?? Sounded more like ESO…Emotional Snake Oil to me. So Gary wanted me to acknowledge a problem and tap on my face and under my arm and my fear of snakes or a 14 year bout with carpal tunnel pain vanishes like magic. My wife tells me I am too gullible and since I kept reading about this EFT stuff she might be right!!

Gary Craig says that EFT is somehow connected to acupuncture, a highly trained skill that takes years to learn? He also says that I can deal with problems that only highly trained psychologist are trained to handle? I can’t wait to see how much this is going to cost?? Wait a minute he is giving away a free EFT manual… yeah right!! I figured I'm sure it is free if I don’t like it and want to take advantage of my 100% money back guarantee…right? NO, I actually down loaded a free 75 page manual explaining how to use EFT.

OK here we go…this guy Gary sells videos. I figured this is it, the catch!! I should first check the going rate on my line of credit home equity loan. OK, let’s see, if I order 2 sets of Videos that would be what… $120.00 but I get a 35% discount so it would be $78.00…for 30 hours of EFT technique videos?? (The DVDs pricing and packaging system has since changed.) At this point I am looking over my shoulder to make sure my wife is not looking because red flags will be going off in her head if I tell her I going to order 30 hours of EFT videos for only $78.00. I told you she says I am gullible…I prefer to say open and adventuresome. I felt strongly that there was something very different about this whole thing. What the heck…I will just order them I can always cancel through my credit card if the whole thing is a scam and they won’t answer my emails or phone calls.

As a high school teacher I was always looking for stress relief for myself and my students. So I read the manual thoroughly and started practicing on myself. I also started watching the videos. I did some tapping for stress and it seemed to relax me but I was not getting or seeing anything major or earth shaking going on. I felt that I needed a guinea pig. We had a lot of fear running rampant because of the tower attack on 911. A student came to me and wanted to talk because he was afraid. He heard something about putting plastic and duct tape on our windows in case of gas attack terrorism. He could not sleep and this fear was all he could think about. So I said let’s try this technique I just heard about to get rid of fear. So I lead him through the routine and in 3 minutes he looked and me and said, “Where did it go?” I said, “What?” “That really bad feeling I was having just left.” The next day I asked how he slept and he said there were no more problems since we did that crazy tapping stuff. OK…at that point EFT had my attention.

I still was not feeling anything when I tapped for myself. I knew it was working because my stress level would go down, I just thought I should be feeling something else. I found out that you don’t have to feel anything for it to work.

Most people tell me that they just feel like they can tell me anything. Since I am the kind of person that people naturally are willing to tell their problems to, I decided that I could be an EFT practitioner and teacher. I started studying the videos and then I found the Tests provided by Dr. Carrington and decided to give it a try. I completed both the Basic and the Advanced tests covering the EFT Course and the Steps toward becoming the ultimate therapist videos.

Maggie Adkins an EFT Master was going to be in Colombia Maryland but I absolutely could not change my schedule to make it to her level one class. So I called and had a nice interview with her and told her what I knew and how I had taken and passed the tests so she felt that I could move on to her EFT Level Two without a problem.
